Join us for a year of celebration

Richland County was established in 1841 by taking a portion west of Lawrence County and a portion east of Clay County.  During the establishment (and much controversy), Olney was named the county seat as its central location and proximity to the Fox River were desirable. 

 

Since that time, Olney & Richland County have prospered in agriculture, industry, community, and the fame of the white squirrel.
